HONORARY CHAIR
Janée Lambert Bonner
Janée is the wife of the University of South Alabama’s fourth president, Jo Bonner.
A Mobile native, she graduated from St. Paul’s Episcopal School and earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from Rhodes College. She then spent 12 years in Washington, D.C., serving as a senior legislative aide to Rep. Andy Ireland and later as director of political action for the American Society of Anesthesiologists. During her time in D.C., she held leadership roles in several volunteer organizations, including chairing Taste of the South, a gala that has raised millions for Southern charities.
Back in Mobile, Janée has been deeply involved in civic and philanthropic efforts, serving as president of the Junior League of Mobile and on boards for organizations such as the Exploreum Science Center, United Way of Southwest Alabama, Mobile Area Education Foundation, and Alabama Shakespeare Festival. She is also a Leadership Mobile alumna.
Jo and Janée have two children, Lee and Robins, and are delighted to welcome their son-in-law, Andrew Freidman, and soon-to-be daughter-in-law, Erin Taylor, into the family. Like her husband, Janée is honored to be involved in many aspects of the USA campus and the surrounding community, including the inaugural Home & Garden Show.
